Options
The Options dialog allows manual adjustments to be made to various settings
A list of the options with a brief explanation of their function is provided below:
- Maximum Line Length - the number of characters to be read from each line in the text file before searching it. Any characters after this number (if any) will be ignored. The default (2048) should be sufficient in the majority of cases
- Progress Update Rate - The number of lines to read from the file before the progress bar updates its position
- Line Delimiter - The character used to delimit a line/record in a text file. Most discussion on CatView assumes this to be the default (New Line).
The Line Delimiter character can be set to any standard ASCII character code in the range 1 to 127 inclusive.
- Keyword Font The font used to display the keywords
- HIstory List Maximum The maximum number of keywords allowed in the drop-down keyword list.
If this setting is changed to a value lower than that already contained in the history list, then keywords will not be deleted and will remain in the list. In this case, the keyword list will apply the new maximum by limiting the viewable items to the new number and forcing any remaining keywords to be viewable only by scrolling.
