Change Prices
The Change Prices dialog allows for the mathematical manipulation of any prices that may exist in the search results grid. CatView will search and replace the existing prices much like a search/replace function.
The configuration tab is provided to customise price notations that CatView searches for.
Filter Results to Change
This options determines whether all the results in the grid are searched and manipulated or just those that are currently selected.
Add Text After Price
If this checkbox is ticked, the text specified in the textbox below it will be appended to the new price. This is useful in circumstances where the grid may be viewed by other people. It may be appropriate, for example, to append the word "Approx." to each price to convey this to the viewer.
Adjust Price
This is the principle section of the price manipulation dialog.
Adjust price specifies the mathematical operation to be performed on the price once it has been located.
There are 2 principal mathematical operation categories:
- Percentage - adjust the price by this percent. Selecting Percentage and entering a value will change all prices to that percent of their current value.
With this option selected and a value set to 10(%), a price in the results grid of "$100.00" will be changed to "$10.00".
- Value - adjust the price by the specified operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division).
With this option selected, with addition selected and value set to 11, a price in the results grid of "$100" will be changed to "$111".
Configuration Tab
The configuration tab specifies the symbols that CatView will use to find prices within a row. These symbols default to the system locale settings (Control Panel | Regional Options) on your computer.
These symbols should be altered if the catalog being searched contains prices with symbols that differ to those configured on your computer. For example, if the catalog contains prices in dollars ($), yet you are searching on a computer in Poland, change the Zloty decimal symbol (',') to a decimal point ('.') to let CatView know that you are searching for this type of currency notation instead.
